This 22k gold vintage snake ring has a lot of presence on the finger, as it wraps around the finger twice with the tail extending down the hand and head extending toward the tip of the finger. The gold is hand hammered with a beautiful texture, and the head and tail are made of silver that is welded to the gold. In the head, a ruby is bezel set with its pointed facets facing upward, allowing the ruby to protrude above up the ring. Around it, diamonds are bead set in a swirling pattern that is repeated on the tail as well. The snake ring is a classic design that has been used for centuries; this one is a modern design but exhibits Old World charm because it is hand hammered and hand hewn. There is a nice patina to the silver that also adds a rustic feeling. 

From the top of the head to the bottom of the tail, the ring’s width is 1 3/4”. On the underside of the ring, where the snake’s body is wrapped twice, the ring’s width measures 3/8”. The gauge of the snake’s body measures 3.25 mm thick. The ring weighs 13.6 grams. Unmarked, but acid tests as 22k gold and silver.
