Vintage 18K Gold Amsterdam SAUER Aquamarine Ring

This elongated aquamarine is a vibrant icy blue with beautiful oval faceted cuts, set in a simple 18k white gold setting that highlights the beauty of the stone. The ring is made by Amsterdam SAUER, a prominent Brazilian jeweler known for their use of Brazilian gemstones. The ring’s stunning aquamarine has enough depth for it to create a lot of refraction within the stone, giving it a remarkable sparkle and vibrancy. The stone is prong set, and on either side of the aquamarine are single cut diamonds bezel set in the ring shank. The white gold and sparkling white diamonds complement the facets of the aquamarine, emphasizing the stone’s gorgeous sparkle.

In 1941, Amsterdam SAUER was founded by Jules Sauer, who arrived in Brazil a few years prior after fleeing Europe during World War II. Its inaugural store opened in 1956 near the Copacabana Palace, an iconic location known as the epicenter of glamor at the time. Jules Sauer was responsible for the recognition of emeralds in Brazil and for publishing renown books about Brazilian gemstones. He received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Colored Gemstone Association.

The ring’s natural aquamarine measures 7.9 x 5.5 x 3.15 mm and has a carat weight of 3.5. The natural single cut diamonds measure 2.25 mm each, for a combined TCW of .05 carats. The diamonds are VS1 in clarity and G-H in color.

The ring weighs 3.4 grams. It is marked as 18k gold and with A.S. for Amsterdam Sauer.

Ring size 6.25; resizable.
