3 3/4" in diameter, this round, hand painted, European snuff box depicts a group of men at a table gambling or engaging in some kind of transaction. An interesting addition is a weasel like animal at the foot of one of the men. Beautifully painted with deep dark colors create a mood so common to these pieces, images coming out of the darkness. Its black base and sides have appropriate wear for its age, as does its interior. In excellent condition with no issues, the box's patina has a beautiful crackelure to its surface.
