This lovely medallion charm made in the Art Nouveau era features a young girl in profile surrounded by a sun flower. In her hair are two tiny rose cut diamonds, deep set, creating shadows and depth. Her hair is pulled up to reveal her shoulders; her low relief bust is accentuated by the many petals around her, and the disc of the sunflower is at the center. The medallion is ready to hang with a bale, and is a brilliant yellow color of gold. It is engraved in cursive, on the back with the name Nelly. The medallion weighs 2.6 grams and was made in France circa 1920. It is a fine example of the imagery used in the Art Nouveau era, the Jugend girl, who at the time was man's connection to nature, youth and beauty. A lovely collectible, remains unmarked but tests to 18 karat gold.
