A beautiful period piece from the Art Deco era, this 14k white gold ring has all the classic elements that makes the Art Deco era special. The central diamond is held in an elongated horizontal geometric setting, delineated by two triangle cut sapphires, creating an image that is reminiscent of an eye. The diamond, which is a stunning Old European cut, is held by six prongs in a hexagonal shape, while the lines of the sapphire elongate the angles of the hexagon. The ring’s carriage has nice filigree work that extends halfway around the band.Â
The natural antique Old European Cut diamond measures 5 mm across, for a TCW of 0.5 of a carat. It is G-H in color and VS1 in clarity. Bright and lively with beautiful sparkle. The two natural antique sapphires are 3.8 mm equilateral triangles. The diamond is in great shape; the sapphires have some light abrasions, appropriate to their age.Â
The face of the ring measures 9/16” x 1/4”. The band is 2.5 mm at its widest point, tapering down to 1.7 mm. The ring weighs 2.35 grams. Unmarked; acid tests as 14k.Â
A beautiful, classic piece that makes a great alternative wedding band.Â
Ring size 4.5; sizable.Â
