Edwardian 18K Gold & Platinum Diamond Filigree Earrings
These Edwardian dangle earrings feature some of the finest filigree work I have ever seen. An inverted triangle dangles from the top rose cut diamond with a beautiful elongated station in between. These earrings are 18K yellow gold backed with a platinum top.
These dainty earrings have swirling patterns of filigree in the triangular drop. In the center is a 3mm transitional cut round diamond. The diamond is flanked on the sides and top with 1mm rose cuts. The delicate work is further embellished with milgrain and gold bead work. A fine example of Edwardian finery.
Each earring has one 3mm old transitional cut diamond and five 1mm rose cut diamonds and a 1.5mm rose cut at the top. The total approximate carat weight in diamonds is .3 carats. The diamonds are bright and lively and well matched. The color is G/H in color and range in clarity from VS11 to SL11. The white metal acid tests as platinum and they are marked 18K on the earring lever back.
They measure 1 1/4" x 3/8" and weight 2.8 grams.Â
Circa 1910-1915.
